Matek F405 VTOL Flight Controller with OSD and MicroSD Slot
The Matek F405-VTOL flight controller features a STM32F405RGT6 MCU running at 168 MHz with 1 MB of flash memory. It is equipped with an ICM42688-P IMU, an SPL06-001 barometer, and an AT7456E OSD. The flight controller also includes a microSD card slot for blackbox logging.
The F405-VTOL provides 6 UART ports, one of which has a software serial TX option for INAV. It also has 12 PWM outputs, one I2C port, and 4 ADCs for measuring battery voltage, current, RSSI, and airspeed.
The flight controller is designed to handle a wide range of input voltages, from 6.8 to 30 V, covering 2 to 6 cell LiPo batteries. It features a 100 A continuous, 220 A peak current sensing resistor, and can support a continuous load of up to 100 A on the ESC pad near the current sensor resistor. Additionally, it can handle a continuous load of up to 30 A and a peak of 50 A on each ESC pad of a quadcopter.
The F405-VTOL has a 5 V BEC output designed for the flight controller, receiver, OSD, camera, buzzer, 2812 LED strip, GPS module, and airspeed sensor, with a continuous current capacity of 2 A. It also has a 9 V/12 V BEC output for video transmitters, cameras, and gimbals, with a continuous current capacity of 2 A. The 12 V option is available via a jumper pad and requires the input voltage to be at least 1 V higher than the output voltage.
The Servo BEC output has an adjustable voltage, with a 5 V default, and 6 V or 7.2 V options via jumper. It can handle a continuous current of 8 A and a peak of 10 A. The input voltage should be at least 1 V higher than the Servo BEC output voltage.
The flight controller also has a 3.3 V linear regulator output designed for barometer, compass, and other 3.3 V peripherals, with a continuous current capacity of 200 mA.
The Matek F405-VTOL measures 45 x 42 x 15 mm and weighs 25 g with the USB/buzzer adapter. It can be mounted using either 25 x 25 mm or 35 x 35 mm mounting holes.
The package includes the F405-VTOL flight controller, a USB (Type-C)/beep (passive buzzer) extender with a 20 cm JST-SH-6P to JST-SH-6P cable, a 20 cm JST-GH-4P to JST-GH-4P cable for the I2C port, and a Rubycon ZLH 35 V 470 μF capacitor. The board is shipped with Dupont 2.54 pins unsoldered.
